You may even be looking to do more or are putting in a lot of time and effort into something.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The question we don\u2019t ask ourselves very often is how effective is my effort? Do I have a goal to measure <a href=\"https:\/\/dictionary.cambridge.org\/dictionary\/english\/effectiveness\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">effectiveness<\/a> against? It turns out <a href=\"https:\/\/review.content-science.com\/most-companies-do-not-measure-content-effectiveness-but-those-who-do-report-more-success\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">businesses don\u2019t do this too often<\/a>, so it\u2019s not surprising we don\u2019t as individuals.\u00a0 I\u2019m sure, like businesses, we can all come up with good reasons why we don\u2019t.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On the flip side, when we purchase goods\/services or give an opinion about how others make or deliver these, we often ask. How efficient is that boiler, PV or car? Am I getting value for money? Is the NHS run efficiently?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbs.org\/newshour\/science\/how-your-brain-stops-you-from-taking-climate-change-seriously\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">cognitive dissonance on climate change<\/a> has been widely studied.\u00a0 It can be quite stressful and damaging to our mental health if not resolved, or ignored. I think herein lies the question and answer; am I prepared to take steps to resolve my cognitive dissonance on climate change? Am I ready to find out how effective I am?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019ll be a daunting step for many, there is always a good reason why not. Do I even have the desire or energy to get started, never mind do something about it.\u00a0 I&#8217;m already doing my bit, that should be enough since every little matters!
